It's December, which means it's clothe show live. The last I wwent to clotheshow was in 2003 with my mum. I paid for my ticket to go there and I was just a normal person. This year it's different. I was there as a photographer and I had my ticket for free....:D. It was really exciting as it's my catwalk show to photography. Instead of sitting on the seat like I did last time I was there, I was actually standing at the end of the runway with no one in front of me at all. I have a full view of every single model and their outfit. I was also scouting for new models for photoshoot although, there were very few people there who are good enough to consider as a model quality. Anyway, at the end, I took about 1600 photos and next year, I will definitely do it again! (Check out my new photo album for the fashion photos)

 

So last weekend, I went over to Barcelona because the ticket were really cheap and I counldn't resist not to go. BUt with the english pound being so shit now, everything became extremely expensive which has really ruin the whole trip. It also rain 2 out of the 3 days I was there and it was cold. Over all, it was a shit break but at least I had a few days off away from work.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well, I guess not much had happened since last time but watch this space, may be something exciting is coming up!  

 

 

 

Last weekend I travel to another colleague's house for a photo shoot. He was the very first person I did a photoshoot. so a THANKS to him for letting me test on him. Anyway, now that I have become a lot better, I have decided to do another photo shoot with him. So I travel to his house to do an outdoor shoot for a winter collection with his very own Porsche. We shot for about 2 hours (like usual) but this time I have actually ran out of memory to my card and it was very annoying. Next time when I go back to Hong Kong, I am going to get 16GB card to make sure this will not happened again! Anyway, we had lots of good shot and I actually had trouble picking them. Along side the finished photo, I have also added an article with it. The initial idea was to write about him but then I realised I don't know him enough to write about him. So I ended up writing about how civil engineers are now becoming younger and trendier, which is kind of link to my personal photography project. 

 

Well, in order for you to see how much improvement I have had since the first photo shoot, I am showing you one of my first finish photo and the one that i did last week.

I know I have always been talking about my photography all the time but don't forget I am still a Highways Engineer. That's what I do from Monday to Friday. I have always been involve with the Institution of Highways and Transportation (IHT) and is the youngest committee member of the West Midlands Branch, currently the biggest branch in the UK (I think). I am also the chair of the Young professional group in which I organise events and promote the industry to young people. This year, I was nominated for the Young Professional Award 2008 and my name was mentioned on their transportation magazine. Unfortunately I didn't win the award this year but I will try harder next year! However, a couple of days ago, I recieved an invitation to attend an IHT luncheon in London in which many top people from many companies will attend. I am not sure if I should go as I am only a small potato in my company, beside the company is not going to pay for my day to represent them, so that's not the reason why I should go. However, it will be a very good opportunlity for me to network. Hm...what do you guys think? Shall I go or shall I not?     

 

 

    

 

 

 

      

Everythiing seems to be back to normal. I am not sure what happened last week but everytime I try to add a blog, it just crash and I couldn't do anything

 

Anyway, I am back. In the last two weeks, I have done 2 more photo shoot, one at every weekend. Two weeks ago I was doing the Album cover photos for the band 'THE REASON'. The room where we took the photo was really small, in fact, once all the light was set, there wasn't much space left. So I had to limit to using one t instead of three. The title of the album was 'Pills, Thrills and easy lay'. We set up the room with lots of beer cans, wine bottles, some pills pretending to be drugs and some baking powder pretend to be cocain. (YUP...baking powder!!!). It was a slow start as the band didn't have any idea of what they wants and I wasn't sure if what I had in my mind is what they wanted. Anyway, have try all different ideas and the photos turn out really well. It is still being finalised, so I can't publish here before it is official.

 

Last week was the lingerie photo shoot. I was quite nervous as it was my first times for this type of shoot. The girl arrived in her jeans and t-shirt and a suitcase. All she had in her suitcase was all diiferent type of lingerie. We've picked the one that I wanted for the photos. She got changed in the toilet and came out with almost nothing on. It was really hard to know where to look at when I speak to her. After almost 2 hours of shoots and 200 photos, we decided that we have had enough. So ladies and gentleman, here are the results from last week's photo shoot! I hope you like them!

 

Ar...I am trying to up date my blog at home but I keep crashing when I get to type in the content. Now I have to used the work computer to do this but then I can't upload a photo to this!.....:( What is wrong?????

 

 

 

           

As mentioned on my previous blog, I was helping a band to take some photos for their web-page. Well, they have picked what they like most and has now published on their web-site. They have also ask me to take some photos for their CD which they are in the production of and soon be finish.

 

My photography is coming along well. I have a photo shoot tomorrow on the 2nd August, I have another photoshoot for the band for their CD next saturday on the 9th August. Then on the 16th August I have a lingerie photo shoot for a female model and on the 13th September, I have a photo shoot for a collague and his girlfriend.

 

I am hoping all the photo shoot bookings will carry on and soon be doing 1 shoot every weekend.

 

By the way, I have forgotten to show you the main photo that I did from the last shoot, so here it is!

 

Anyway, I will published my photo from tomorrow's shoot once I have finished editing, so keep checking!

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

I usually do a photoshop photo with the shoot I have done to create something different. So with no exception I have created a new photo called 'Face Off'. I hope you like it! With some luck, I should be able to find my next model for another shoot!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wow...the time is flying by so fast, I didn't even notice that it's been a month and a half since I last updated my space.

 

Well, since then I now have my 'v1 Studio'  business card. I have done another photo shoot. (As shown below). I have also been to a photographer job interview. Things are looking good but my progress is a little slow since I had to deal with all the documents first of setting up a business, before full steam ahead and try to publicise myself.

 

From previous blog, I mentioned that I volunteered to take the staff photos for the Birmingham office. Well, my photos have been seen and I have now been asked to go over to the head office and spend a day taking everyone's photo as well. In a way it's my very first paid photography assignment. I felt very excited about it and it has given me more motivation to make this work. Although I have told them that I will not re-touch any of the photos as it will take forever for me to do so, unless I can use the work time to do them. Hopefully people will turn up as pretty as they can and makes my photo a bit better...:D

 

Away from the topic of photography, I have now have a new member of my family despite the disagreement of my parents. His name is 'Dino'. He is a 9 weeks old puppy. I've already had him for 2 weeks.He is a mega mix of Corgi, Sharpei and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Unsurprisingly, I have already took lots of photos of him, so I have created an album for him. (Oh God, my parents are going to see this as well). I hope you like him too!
